Description
The BMW M3 was born from the Bavarian manufacturer’s desire to equip itself with a Group A FIA competition car. To homologate its competition model, BMW had to market a civilian version in at least 5,000 units. Unveiled at the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show, its production began the following spring. It received specific bumpers, widened wings, a rear spoiler and a rear window with a revised inclination, in order to obtain a drag coefficient of 0.33. This first M3 would become a true legend, symbolizing the brand’s sporty and chic image on its own.
